Well, if this is global warming, er, ah..climate change, I’d hate to see the flip side. The winter of 2014 continues to set records, which can be a bit of a problem for a ‘movement’ that asks you to believe so-called climate models or your own eyes. Doesn’t help that even the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reluctantly acknowledges that temperatures have flatlined over the past 15 years or so. Perhaps that’s why the environmental left is pointing to “extreme” weather as the consequence of the industrial age spoiling the earth with fossil fuels. Yet when has the weather NOT been extreme? And please tell us the ‘settled science’ behind carbon dioxide causing ‘extreme’ weather phenomena-and not just the greenhouse effect in a controlled lab. There’s huge money in politicizing the weather, from wind farms to solar panels to wall street carbon credits-you know, basically every policy position outlined in the Democratic platform (how convenient?). So don’t expect the hype to end anytime soon-but the truth is coming out no thanks to the myriad of ecojournalists all too happy to parrot the company line. And as you can see with the graph above (click for more), natural concentrations of carbon dioxide have fluctuated in a pattern for 400,000 years. We may be on the verge another precipitous drop in CO2 levels once again-and that may herald in the next ice age, for all we know. But then again, we don’t know. So the next time a few climate scientists gets stuck in the ice at the Poles, let’s send an electric car after them.
