Religion and the State
For those of you who've read Power Divided is Power Checked: The Argument for States Rights, much of the fuss over Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk jailed and released for refusing to issue gay marriage licenses, is nothing new. In the book (now available as an audio book with bonus commentary on this issue, see https://itunes.apple.com/us/audiobook/power-divided-is-power-checked/id1019221890), I go to great lengths to explain what the proper relationship between church and state--starting with the SCOTUS rejection of the Religious Freedom and Restoration Act--should be based upon. My latest podcast delves into this once again (see podcast page above) so I won't go into much detail here except to say, with apologies to Mike Huckabee, the right time to fight for religious liberty is when it affects private action (including commerce), and not in the public sphere. This is based on the fundamental notion that the state must never interfere with the free exercise of religion, but religion must never become the policy of the state.

Just the other day I was thinking about how much I miss hearing your commentary on current events. I do own your book, but will certainly get the audio book as well - especially knowing you did the narration.
Hope all is well with you, Jason. I truly miss your voice on the airwaves - you're still my favorite of all talk show hosts!
